The Temples

Please do take note of something special here regarding Israel and the time line going from this point forward.

The focus at this tour stop is importance of having an active Temple in place in Jerusalem. The Book of Daniel describes a time line of its own. That time line sequence, from Daniel's day fits both events that are yet to come in the time of the Macabees (long after Daniel's service in the Babylonian court) and in another time frame that has not yet been established even by the year 2000 CE. Hints of how this works may appear in the time line here, but more specific discussions are based on the content of two Creator's Window book chapters (that is, Chapter 15, a study of the Book of Daniel, and Chapter 23, which puts together the event sequence associated with Israel's Third Temple [see download link below]).

With David comes the genesis for the first Temple in Jerusalem. Later a reconstruction of this Temple leads to the year 70 CE when the second Temple is destroyed by the Romans. From then on there is a desire to see a rebuilt Temple. Both Daniel and other passages elsewhere in the Scriptures require a Third Temple to be in place and functioning for the biblical account to be fulfilled — this concerns the last portion of this time line (see the end of Time Line Part Two).

Keep an eye on the time line... especially as we approach present time... and you will see activity in preparation for rebuilding. To some the Temple practice of past years may even seem out of context, out of date (e.g., who really thinks of animal sacrifices today?), yet there is an orthodox community within Israel that even today looks to occupying the Temple Mount with the expectation of rebuilding and installing a fully functional Temple. What could make this happen?

And what if the reconstruction gets underway in your lifetime? All the more reason to study the book of Daniel!

The role of the Temple is a pivotal component of the chapters in Parts III and IV of the Creator's Window. Take a look at the book outline in the Creator's Window area... and if you like, chapters can be accessed in PDF format and even saved to your hard drive for reading at a later time (see our Download page for Chapter 15 which gives an account of Daniel's time line).
