Messianic Prophecy

Consider Genesis 3:15. Note that the Greek word giving us Genesis is describing a 'birth' or 'history of origin.' The same scroll of Scripture in Hebrew derives its name from the first words in the text which include the Hebrew word bereshith which means beginning (and again origin). Herein is a place for describing the beginnings or the origin of the universe and even a beginning of telling about the Messiah to come.

Biblical evidence in support of the Jewish Messiah's identity may seem the contrary topic in a book entitled Messianic Christology (authored by a Jewish scholar, Dr. Fruchtenbaum). Remember, the WindowView time line features scientific and scriptural based events. While not apparent at this point in our tour, the identification of the Jewish Messiah is considered as a key element to knitting the larger view into one tapestry of interrelated information. To our Jewish visitors, and even to Gentiles, we ask that you'd reserve any opinion of Dr. Fruchtenbaum's writings until you read his presentation.

Note that the Greek root 'Christos' is nothing more than 'anointed one,' which is the same meaning to the word Messiah. Second, Dr. Fruchtenbaum's study in this book focuses entirely on the Scriptures that appear in the Hebrew Bible (Tanach). That the Messiah is so clearly reflected in the Bible that the Jews carry with them each day is a critical pivot point to seeing the larger view. Dr. Fruchtenbaum's presentation is critical to our understanding of many inter-linked aspects of the Scriptures. A review of his work is well worth your exploration! So, what does this first prophetic reference to the Messiah say?

Genesis 3:15 ''And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.''
